Some bleak sci-fi drabbles today. Enjoy.

Spoils of War
Brittle bone shards crunched under her feet, grinding into the hard-packed earth. The remains of long forgotten humans left to rot, now dust under her boots. She enjoyed the sound; the bones of the dead reminded her of victory.
Arrogant scum got what they deserved.
Twitching ears caught a sound, a voice. She raised her gun, a human survivor within the sights. A youngling. She pulled the trigger. A familiar sizzle and the targeted projectile took out the target. She continued on, hunting.
Humans can’t be trusted.
She’d eliminate them all so her race could call this planet home again.
A New World
I was Outcast.
Shunned by a stringent society, cutting away the unwanted, the different, the unconforming.
We were Alone.
Until the discarded came together, away from the judgmental, the narrow-minded, the cruel.
We became Family
So we departed for the distant stars, creating a space colony, a haven far beyond their reach.
We were at peace.
Then they returned.
Sending messages, begging to flee Earth. Their hubris destroyed the planet, they wanted entry to our world.
Our home.
We will not make the same mistake, we will not let their corruption infect us again.
We will not forgive.
Or forget…
Echoes
Is anyone out there?
The tinny recorded voice broadcast into the universe as the spaceship moved relentlessly past the stars. It reverberated around the bridge, bouncing off the bones of the dead crew.
Is any…ne out there?
The tinny recorded voice broadcast into the universe as the spaceship entered its home galaxy. The sound quality resonated with static; the ship mechanisms were old and breaking down.
Is an…ne o…there?
The tinny recorded voice snapped in broken syllables and static, still broadcasting as the spaceship maintained a collision course with Earth.
There was no one left on the planet to care…
