Sea Bound
He stared at the moon. The sight of it caught hold of him in unexpected sorrow. The soft whisper of the Goddess of the Moon danced past his ear on moonbeams.
“Everything will be fine. You are where you need to be.”
The words stirred his heartache, but he didn’t shed any tears. He wept tears enough already over his exile, enough to fill his beloved sea.
She’s right. I’m not one of them anymore. I’m Captain Rafe Morrow, commander of the ship, Celestial Jewel.
He glanced over to his wondrous vessel, a three-masted ship, crafted of the mortal world and the one beyond. The last gift of his family to their wayward son. It bobbed in the harbour, docked in the port of Abersythe.
Ready to sail. If I only had sailors to man her.
“I hear you’re looking for a crew.”
