National Poetry Month Day 7: Winter Mercy

I had a busy morning, so a bit late with today’s poem, but here’s a triolet from the prompt, Winter Mercy.

Winter Mercy

Isolation zeitgeist descending in disguise;
alabaster beauty wrapped in pale death
A wonderland of stillness overtop the lies
Isolation zeitgeist descending in disguise,
rhapsody plunging beneath clouded skies,
an icy sensation of mortality in a breath
Isolation zeitgeist descending in disguise
Alabaster beauty wrapped in pale death
