Gargoyle at Vespers

In the gloaming hours, with the dying light
as hunchback shadows gather at the bell
echoing a summons through every knell,
in the gloaming hours, with the dying light

As hunchback shadows gather at the bell,
gargoyle stone shudders beneath the sound
and ancient whispers carefully compound,
as hunchback shadows gather at the bell

Gargoyle stone shudders beneath the sound
Wingtips quiver, watchful eyes behold the view
whilst those ageless guardians awake anew;
gargoyle stone shudders beneath the sound

Wingtips quiver, watchful eyes behold the view
in the gloaming hours, with the dying light
Strange bastions of safety, wardens of the night,
wingtips quiver, watchful eyes behold the view

In the gloaming hours, with the dying light
as hunchback shadows gather at the bell
echoing a summons through every knell
In the gloaming hours, with the dying light
