Poetry Wednesday: The Empty Garden

Drabble Wednesday was cancelled by a blizzard (and the fact I was too tired after shovelling to be creative and get it finished). So I give you a poem that I wrote a while back, instead. Enjoy.

The Empty Garden

The garden shimmers
with broken memories
under the moon
Fractured pieces litter
the muted green corners
A rusted ladder and nails,
scattered trowels and
three cracked pots,
with one discarded spoon
half-buried in the dirt
Yesterday twists
deep into your heart
with darkened silence
disguising the rage
simmering underneath
your haunting reflection.
