Day 23 – National Poetry Month: Hallowed Relic

Today I had the prompt Hallowed Relic and I give you a Catena Rondo poem. Enjoy.

Hallowed Relic

Veneration in the hallowed light,
with bowed head and devoted heart
So much more than treasured art
Veneration in the hallowed light

With bowed head and devoted heart,
whispered prayers released in care
soul’s pain splayed raw and bare
With bowed head and devoted heart

Whispered prayers released in care
the blessed hope of some surcease
of quiet mercy and gentle peace
whispered prayers released in care

Veneration in the hallowed light
With bowed head and devoted heart,
so much more than treasured art
Veneration in the hallowed light
