Here’s today’s poem, a catena rondo, from the prompt Solitude’s End.

Solitude’s End
Withered flowers captured in a jar
for sunlight sparkles on a windowsill,
adorned with lacey ribbon and twill
Withered flowers captured in a jar
For sunlight sparkles on a windowsill,
an insignificant speck of leftover joy
ensnaring bittersweet memories, a ploy
for sunlight sparkles on a window sill
An insignificant speck of leftover joy
sheltered behind the walls of pain
in retreat from compassion in wane;
an insignificant speck of leftover joy
Sheltered behind the walls of pain,
vitality forsaken in an instant breath,
traded for memories of drifting death
sheltered behind the walls of pain
Vitality forsaken in an instant breath;
withered flowers captured in a jar,
the private keepsake of a twisted scar
Vitality forsaken in an instant breath
Withered flowers captured in a jar
for sunlight sparkles on a windowsill,
adorned with lacey ribbon and twill
Withered flowers captured in a jar
