Day Nine – National Poetry Month: Refrain

So today’s poem is a bit different. The prompt was Refrain, which made me think of music, and I had to use the Mirrored Refrain poetry form because that was too perfect. Somehow, it all melded into the following poem of madness. Enjoy.

Refrain

A chaotic universe in harmony,
where cataclysm swirls in rhyme
while frantic drumbeats chant of dreams;
candy-coated promise in syncopated time

Ageless, existential stardust falling,
past the cosmos and the slipstreams
Candy-coated promise in syncopated time
while frantic drumbeats chant of dreams

A concerto gushing colour of creation
a fairyland delirium of cherry red and lime,
while frantic drumbeats chant of dreams;
candy-coated promise in syncopated time

Swirls of allegro illustration kiss adagio,
embracing far beyond the moonbeams
Candy-coated promise in syncopated time
while frantic drumbeats chant of dreams
