Today I had a musical prompt (so apologies to musicians if I totally screwed up the meaning).

Syncopated

Shorten the beat
Disruption in the strong rhythm
Shorten the beat
Speed up the pace, and slow it down
Swing the tempo around and round
Let the quiet notes have their day
Shorten the beat
