Defy the Stars

Beyond the constricting skies, we soar,
and embrace the expanse of black;
resisting fate, while the engines roar

Voyaging past what we can’t ignore,
determined we aren’t coming back
Beyond the constricting skies, we soar

Abandoning memories come before,
setting a course on this forever track
resisting fate, while the engines roar

Eternally surrendering all we abhor,
accepting the unfamiliar and the lack;
beyond the constricting skies, we soar

We trade it completely, aim to explore,
arise what may, be it ruin and rack
resisting fate, while the engines roar

To defy the signaled stars, evermore,
to drift and drown in the cosmic stack
Beyond the constricting skies, we soar
resisting fate, while the engines roar
