Drabble Wednesday: The Naughty List

Some more weird and wonderful Frankie and Joni shorts this week as Corporate sends more vid ideas.

Don’t Look at the Sausages

“Please explain.” I stared at the new holo-vid. “Why animated sausages?”
Frankie shrugged. “Corporate is still on the family friendly kick.”
“Okay. And why are they wearing flannel shirts?”
“They’re lumberjacks.”
“That explains the axes. So what’s the problem?”
“Keep watching.”
“What am—oh my!” I witnessed a frenzied attack of axes and a flurry of sausage pieces flying through the air. “That is not family friendly.”
“No, they reused an old horror slasher vid for this version.”
“This version? There’s another one?”
“Yeah, but they utilized a romance holo-vid code in that one. Gives a whole new meaning to sausage…”

Dance of the What?

“Another Corporate mandate?”
Frankie nodded. “They want colour!” He gestured with his hands. “And dancing.”
I sighed. “Let’s go see what they sent.”
We keyed up the new holo-vid and let it play.
“Well, the opening music is catchy. I wonder… Wait, are they tap dancing possums?”
“Yes, I believe they are. In little rainbow coloured top hats and parkas.”
“Dancing on an iceberg covered in sprinkles.”
“It is colourful.” Frankie giggled. “There is supposed to be a big finish coming.”
There was. Fireworks. Several possums went up in flames.
“Does Corporate even view these things? I need a coffee.”

Corporate Drank Too Much Eggnog

“A what monster?”
“A Butter Monster. A pink striped monster with horns that steals butter.”
“Why?”
“To build its nest.”
“A nest of butter?”
“That’s what it says.” Frankie turned the tablet around so I could read the Corporate memo.
I perused the message. “Monster, butter, nest, blah, blah blah… wait. The monster rolls around in the butter and…oh, my. That will get him on the naughty list.”
“Is that it?”
“Nope.” I smiled. “Pass the eggnog, Phil. Love these pitch meetings when we have booze.”
Frankie sighed. “I don’t think that last part was supposed to be written down.”
