Day Fourteen – National Poetry Month: Illusions

Just a short free verse poem today, from the prompt Illusions. Enjoy.

Illusions

Cling to conviction
as if it was written in stone
despite its deception
Cling to conviction

Wearing blinders
Parroting lies
Wrapping insecurity
in the warm blanket
of false belief

Fall into the illusion
and damn the consequence
