French Remembrances

Do you recall the night we met,
our Paris, in the heat of June
over fromage and petite baguette?

So quickly born, first tête-à-tête
soft words bathed beneath the moon
Do you recall the night we met?

Swept away, by that beautiful duet
pangs of love, an unexpected boon,
over fromage and petite baguette

No hesitation and no regret,
the river stroll, our hearts in tune
Do you recall the night we met?

Our idyllic eve, sublime vignette
ever locked in memory’s cocoon,
over fromage and petite baguette

And you love me still, my sweet coquette
through every year and each afternoon
Do you recall the night we met,
over fromage and petite baguette?
