Day 13 National Poetry Month: Winged Mercy

I tried a Loop Poem today from the prompt, Winged Mercy.

Winged Mercy

Angels we will venerate on high
high within your celestial domains,
domains past the sum of beyond,
beyond your earthly constrains

Plead to them for silken mercy,
mercy on the heartbeat of wings
wings wrapped around dogma,
dogma faithful to abstract kings

Yet, wings were preordained to soar,
soar to freedom, unchained, unbound
unbound by rhetoric and concession,
concession of the spirit renowned

Venerate those angels, eternally on high,
high beyond undying, our mortality sin
sin veiled beneath our darkest veneer,
veneer brushed by feathers against the skin
