A quirky set of three drabbles today, washed down with some tea… Enjoy.

A Tea Break
She relished the smooth feel of the warm soapy water as she washed the teacups, taking care not to clink the delicate china.
A chip would never do. Or cracks.
Too many things had been broken already. Especially today. She glanced back towards the dining room, knowing what lay on the other side of the door. She turned back to finish her washing up, placing all the remaining cups in the dish rack to dry. Not a complete set anymore; one piece still lay shattered on the floor…
Is it terrible I regret breaking that cup more than killing him?
Afternoon Tea
“I planned tea for two, but where were you?”
Sally sweetly smiled as she poured the steaming liquid into the cups. “Not here, that was clear.” She pushed a cup across the table, bumping her husband’s hand.
“No, you tried to go, all sneaky on tiptoe, without a word being said.”
Dividing up the cakes and the tea sandwiches, Sally made two plates of food. She placed her spouse’s portion beside his teacup.
“But there was no adieu, only one lump or two. Right on the back of your head.”
Sally grinned again, gazing maliciously at the corpse of her husband.
InsaniTea
“We have gathered here today to break bread, not bones, and if there’s no bread, let us eat cake!” The Hatter raised his teacup in a toast.
“I think the bones have already been broken,” Alice replied. “I can’t move my arm. And I don’t think the March Hare is breathing anymore.”
“Oh, dear.” The Hatter glanced at the still creature. “Too bad, but more cake for us.”
“You poisoned the cake remember? I think that’s what killed the Hare. He started choking right before you drowned the Dormouse in the teapot.”
“Oh bother. I guess that just leaves you…”
