Another free verse poem today, but with a touch of the macabre. This one is from the prompt, A Postcard Most Peculiar. Enjoy.
A Postcard Most Peculiar
It came in the mail today,
this postcard most peculiar
a picture perfect missive
from someone I used to know
It came in the mail today
this postcard most unusual
a cheery note from you
salutations, and wishing I was there
It came in the mail today
this postcard most unsettling,
mailed only two days past
Yet, you’ve been dead for months
It came in the mail today
I am afraid someone knows…
