Day 24 National Poetry Month: Inversion Dreamscape

A free verse jumble of weirdness today with a poem inspired by prompt, Inversion Dreamscape, and the phrase, tinkety-tonk. Enjoy.

Inversion Dreamscape

A panorama of possibilities draped
against flibbertigibbet, wandering
by subconscious meanderings
towards the egress, where
tinkety-tonk means goodbye

Do bears dance in tutus?
Or flamingos fly upside down?
What hue colours your starlight?
In the copacetic palace
tinkety-tonk means goodbye

Put the Ritz on eternal ice
with a side order of hot java
while you waltz among the clouds
and moonlight stumbles from your cup
Where tinkety-tonk means goodbye
