National Poetry Month Day 29: Sweep Away

Here’s the penultimate poem for this month with the prompt Sweep Away. I wrote a chant poem for this one. Enjoy.

Sweep Away

Churlish doubt
and angry words
Rude stares,
off-handed insults
Sweep away

Intolerance
from insecurity
Othering
out of ignorance
Sweep away

Hateful crime,
sexist violence
Breaking lives
through bigotry
Sweep away
