National Poetry Month Day 28: Lemon Flamingo

Today’s prompt is Lemon Flamingo and I wrote a free verse poem. Enjoy.

Photo AI generated by Adobe Firefly and edited in Photoshop.
Not for commercial use. Also, has nothing to do with the poem, but looks cool.

Lemon Flamingo

I am the Queen
of the Lemon Flamingo
,
she declares, as her heels
click across the tiled floor,
with a sashay of her hips
and a smile
Yes, my liege,
comes the answer
and the bartender
slides a drink
into her waiting hand
A vodka martini, sipped,
bright red lipstick
staining the glass rim
I am the Queen
of the Lemon Flamingo,

she shouts,
as the neon flashes
and the music plays
