Day 1 – National Poetry Month: Black Mirror

And here we are, the first day of National Poetry Month 2022. Today’s prompt is Black Mirror and in keeping with the theme, I chose to attempt a Mirrored Refrain poem. Enjoy.

Black Mirror

Alone, in scattered thoughts
while the dark night abates
Within the darkened glass
your old reflection waits

Forever on the broken sand
beyond the sea and grass
Your old reflection waits
within the darkened glass

Memories crash and fly
as the moonlight moderates
Within the darkened glass
your old reflection waits
