Day 2 – National Poetry Month: Broken Bliss

Here’s the poem for day two from the prompt Broken Bliss. I went with a cascade form for this one. Enjoy.

Broken Bliss

When I was young and beautiful
They promised me the world
wrapped in candy floss happiness

Visions of rosy dreams and love
I didn’t understand at all
When I was young and beautiful

Empty vows fade with time
Oh, how they lied when
they promised me the world

Now I suffer with my jaded heart
A ruined life replete in nothing
wrapped in candy floss happiness

  1. Hi!

Long time no see. Thank you for the email! I read the poem and it tells the truth behind the lies we are told by others when we are young.

All the best, Georgiana L. Gheorghe ________________________________
