Bright Petals

Fields of vivid colour, red against the green, soft petals tickling the blades of grass. Ripples of wind drifting over like a lazy river as the surrounding trees sway in the morning sun. You walk, fingers reaching for the flowers, a sigh on your lips.

rambling through poppies
in the morning meadow sun
above the war graves
