National Poetry Month Day 12: Lavender in the Rain

Today’s prompt was Lavender in the Rain and I chose a trimeric poem for the form. Enjoy.

Lavender in the Rain

Restoring drops of early summer rain
tumbling against quivering meadows,
rolling hills, and fields of wild lavender
As I wander towards home

Tumbling against quivering meadows,
luscious pattering of the sky’s tears
touching my temperate skin

Rolling hills, and fields of wild lavender,
stretching out in nature’s splendour,
the rich scent tickling my nose

As I wander towards home
through wistful, familiar memories,
I pluck a sprig of lavender for my son.
