Day 12 – National Poetry Month: Not the Villain

Today I give you a free verse poem from the prompt, Not the Villain. Enjoy.

Also, there will be a special announcement tomorrow about a new poetry book.

Not the Villain

Look at me, look at me,
I’m the best
I smirk, I swagger
All the people love me
I’m not the villain

Pay attention now
I’m going to speak
Say words I don’t believe
Words to enflame
your repressed rage

I pluck your silly strings
dance you like puppets
until you do my bidding
But I’m not responsible
I’m not the villain
