National Poetry Month – Day 28: Scream in the Wind

Today the prompt is, scream in the wind, and for the form I return to the chant.

Scream in the Wind

Shall the gods come
down from the mountain
with the cold winter snow
their fury unabated
and scream within the wind

Shall the gods roar
across the desert
as the sandstorm rides
the weather beaten dunes
and scream within the wind

Shall the gods storm
from the rolling seas
amid the crashing waves
As the tempest rages onward
to scream within the wind

Shall the gods lay waste
upon the world
earth scorched inside their fire
while all the trembling people
scream within the wind
