My poem for Day 16 of National Poetry Month. Take it as you will…
Infinity, Divinity, Virginity
Roaring against the predictable
pawing at fate’s forgone affinity
and heaven’s call in starry reign,
from infinity, divinity, virginity
Damaged by that careless cut
branded with an abiding stain
From infinity, divinity, virginity
and heaven’s call in starry reign
Scream forever against the sin
while always turns the trinity
and heaven’s call in starry reign
from infinity, divinity, virginity
Invisible within your skin,
injustice writ so ever plain
From infinity, divinity, virginity
and heaven’s call in starry reign
How will a life’s worth be measured?
In alabaster silk, paraded femininity?
And heaven’s call in starry reign
from infinity, divinity, virginity?
Long day shadows to hound,
infest the normalcy to feign
From infinity, divinity, virginity
and heaven’s call in starry reign
A vexing wraith in their machine
that guarded, faulty masculinity,
and heaven’s call in starry reign
from infinity, divinity, virginity
Chimera expectations, once lost
reality circles, and dies in vain
From infinity, divinity, virginity
and heaven’s call in starry reign
