Deposits and Withdrawals
Life’s deposits and withdrawals written down
within the universe’s ledger, red and black
Little columns filling, filling, like to drown

Register of conduct, of every smile and frown,
extending rows upon rows, stack upon stack

Be Afraid of the Dark
