What’s Going On With My Books

I know my posts in the the last month or so have been spotty, and apologies for those who follow and read Drabble Wednesday (They will be back more regularly. Soon, I promise). Unfortunately, my schedule took a dramatic turn recently when Draft2Digital (the platform I used to distribute my books to retailers like Kobo and Barnes and Noble) announced it would be charging fees. Now these fees are not substantial, but neither are the royalties I earn from non-Amazon retailers, and I have NO desire to give over a large percentage of those meager earnings to Draft2Digital. I did the calculations and the benefits of staying did not outweigh the costs for me.

So I have to make new accounts on several different retailers and move my books. This is a lot of work. I had about thirty books on Draft2Digital. I’m also taking this as an opportunity to update some of my older books with new formatting and light editing. Some may not make back on to the retailers at all; for those books they will probably be available to buy direct, so not gone completely.

As you can imagine, this is very time consuming, and a bit exhausting, so please bear with me as I sort this out. Things are progressing, and some books have been migrated. When this is all over, hopefully everything will be more streamlined and I’ll have new buy direct options here on the website.

Again apologies for the absences and the sporadic posting, but it won’t be too much longer.
