Day Four – National Poetry Month: Painting the Sky

Here’s today’s poem, a rondel. Enjoy.

Painting the Sky

Those scintillating hues of a sunburst light
splashing across the shadowy canvas sky,
with an uncontained vision flying high,
glimmers of colour, warm and bright

Limitless strokes of tangerine take flight
daubed against a burgeoning goodbye,
those scintillating hues of a sunburst light
splashing across the shadowy canvas sky

A vivid inspiration, a creation to ignite
the artist’s muse, the discerning eye
Until, with a closing kiss and a sigh,
that painted beauty fades from sight
Those scintillating hues of a sunburst light
