Be Afraid of the Dark…

Back once more with a month of poetry (and yes I know I missed Drabble Wednesday again. What can I say, the days are melding together lately). Here’s today’s poem, Illiterate Canapés, to start us off.
Illiterate Canapés
Glitter diamonds set the mood
As servers mingle with trays of food
Elitely invisible
Beautiful smiles, for canapés
And the best Cabernet Sauvignon
Never for people
Life among the etiquette chatter
That banal benighted existence of affluence
Oblivious to the world
