National Poetry Month – Day 13: Dreams of Rain

For Day 13, I have the prompt dreams of rain.
And no form today, just a bit of free verse.

Dreams of Rain

Stirring up scents
of petrichor and hope
of new grass and blooms
A sweet spring rain

Streaks of water
on the window pane
in the afternoon
That warm summer rain

Fallen leaves blow wet
in the wild gale;
gusts of spirits and frost
A windy autumn rain

The bitter weathered edge
to the grey damp day
and the threat of ice
A chilly winter rain
