Be Afraid of the Dark…

Today on Day 19 of National Poetry Month enter into the absurd and abstract…
In a Flash
Speeding particles, like a flash
Dip and dive, a thousand yard dash
spinning, winning, avoid the smash
Play the nucleus drumbeat clash,
universe mirror, through the glass
Entropy and chaos en masse
Sing light electric boogaloo
far down from where the cold wind blew
Ins and outs, cheer our plucky crew
often without a single clue
Empty streets wake the dead of night
lurking atoms and shadow’s sight
Speed and guile, to pierce the arrow
dark secrets dug since the marrow
Ages buried beneath the barrow
never stride the straight and narrow
Fragments patched, repeat ricochet
transitory flashes decay
