#NationalPoetryMonth Day 2: Cordiality

Day two of my participation in National Poetry Month, with a little bit of polite society. Also, please note that, apparently, this website is far too controversial for Facebook and they have banned the link from being posted on their site. So it is doubtful the Facebook share buttons will work. Now on with the poem.

Tea Time

Cordiality

False smiles across tea

teeth on edge

against incivility

ever so polite conversation

to mask the insults underneath

Have a cake, my dear.

Cake? A bit commonplace for me.

Sugar in your tea?

Oh. no, I never take sugar. Too indulgent.

Oh, so prim and proper you are.

The teeth grind

The smiles wear thin

Until the door shuts

with happy sighs,

the visit over

  1. I had a friend who tried to share my post yesterday to Facebook. No the link will not work for others who wish to share either. It’s really a bummer. What did we do to belong in Facebook jail?

    1. Probably nothing. Most likely we were trolled by some malicious person who reported our sites out of spite or because they disagreed with something we wrote.
