Be Afraid of the Dark…

My final poem for National Poetry Month, this last day of April.
And Proud Of It
A Woman
I am not ashamed
of who I am. Not ashamed of
my gender. It does not define me, confine me
it sets me free. I just wish the world
could see, cease demeaning
a woman
